Winter Pressure

NHS services in Cornwall continue to be under extreme pressure.

Extreme pressure in practice

The week leading up to Christmas, due to extreme levels of illness throughout our practice team, we will be operating the following measures:

  1. We will be handling urgent queries only.
  2. Our “Klinik” reporting system may be switched off early, this depends on work load and will be monitored daily.  If Klinik is switched off, and you have an urgent medical query, please contact us on the surgery phone line and our Patient Advisors will be able to assist you.
  3. 2The Acute Dispensary in Carnewater building will be closed.  This will allow us to re-deploy dispensing staff to our main dispensary in Stillmoor to ensure a continuing, safe and effective service for our patients.
  4. Our Dispensary phone line will be open from 09:30-13:00 0nly.  Again, this is to ensure safe staffing levels in the team.

Routine queries

  • If you have a routine query, please consider waiting until the new year to contact us.
  • You may be able to ask your local pharmacist for advice
  • Please do not ring 111 during the core practice hours as they will not be able to help.  NHS111 are there if you are unsure who you need to contact or to find out where you can get help.

Out of Surgery Hours:

If you’re unwell and are unsure about where to go, visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111. Please be patient and choose the right care. Get the right treatment, in the right place, at the right time.  At this very busy time, your 111 call may take a little longer to answer than usual but staff will get to you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Seriously ill or injured and a life is at risk (at any time of the day)

Call 999 in a medical emergency.  This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Finally

Thank you for your support.

We’d also like to thank our hard-working teams who are working incredibly hard to care for those in need.
